THE MAJOR ARCANA

As shown in my post entitled THE GREAT SEAL PYRAMID (https://www.sealpyramid.com/post/great-seal-pyramid), and at my website (sealpyramid.com), the Seal on the back of the dollar not only has been following American history since its adoption in 1782, but divides it into 22 intervals:

It doesn't end there.

Here, the Seal's portrayal of history gets controversial. But I go where the evidence leads me.

Mention Tarot cards to most people, and the subject instantly conjures up images of fortune tellers in gypsy garb laying out cards on tables to divine people's love lives. In fact, the cards did not come into use for use in this way until the end of the 1800's, during the post-Civil War spiritualism craze. Prior to that, they were used solely for playing card games. Even then, nobody knew what they had been intended for.

Though the cards are thought to have come into being after the Black Plague had killed half the people in Europe in the mid-1300's, their first documented appearance was not until the early 1400's, when two prominent Italian families, the Sforza's and the Visconti's, commissioned the creation of two hand-painted decks bearing likenesses of their own family members. How exactly the cards came to be, who created them, and how they came to be used for playing games are all mysteries. It is interesting to note, however, that the cards came into being at the very time the courts of Europe were ransacking monasteries for manuscripts which ultimately, in part, would jump-start the Renaissance. That the cards have a Christian origin is evident from the Christian imagery that is displayed on some of them.

Altogether, a Tarot deck consists of 78 cards, 52 of which eventually evolved into our modern playing cards. 4 others (the "Knight" cards) show stylized versions of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The final 22, also known as the Major Arcana or "trump" cards, show a gallery of 22 enigmatic images which supposedly portray the 22 incarnations of THE FOOL, the figure on the first card, on his path to some sort of spiritual enlightenment or reward.

How these cards came to be is a mystery, but they have a legendary basis in the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet, as well as the 22 paths of the Hebrew sephirot or "Tree of Life":

The significance of the Major Arcana to the Seal's portrayal of history is that --- when its 22 cards are aligned with the 22 intervals into which the Seal divides American history --- a match occurs between either the images portrayed on the cards (or their meanings) and the trends of history in the intervals to which they correspond:

The upshot of the alignments is that --- when the cards and intervals are aligned in this way --- card 20, the JUDGMENT card, lines up with the interval we are in now --- the years from 2017 to 2021!

And since this interval began, we have seen fanatical devotion to Donald Trump by millions of self-proclaimed evangelical Christians; several ongoing global pandemics; an attack on the U.S. Capitol by our own people; escalating racism against blacks and Asian-Americans; and more division in the country than at any time since the Civil War. And according to the correlation, we still have 7 more years of this madness to go before the interval ends and segues into something else.

Based on the cards, we are currently in the next to the last interval portrayed by the Seal; the next interval will cover the years 2029 to 2041, after which the Seal's depiction of American history ends. What exactly that means is anybody's guess. But the card to which the last interval corresponds, THE WORLD, is traditionally known as the card of "rewards." Given the track record of the previous 21 cards for following trends of history, it should bear watching --- if for no other reason, to see what happens.
