THE GREAT SEAL PYRAMID

On February 4th, 1974, at 4 a.m., I discovered by accident that the pyramid on the back of the dollar bill has been following American history.

We begin with the base, which has the year of the nation's founding inscribed above it in Roman numerals. Because the year 1776 as a number is exactly divisible by four, each side of the base can be made to equal 444 years, so that the sum of the four sides ends up expressing geometrically the year of the nation's founding:

This allows 1776 to be represented three-dimensionally by the base:

Ironically, the United States was came into being exactly 13 centuries to the year after the fall of the western Roman Empire: Rome fell in 476 A.D., the United States was created in 1776; the difference is exactly 1300 years.

Surrounding the base are grass clusters with which to represent the first 13 years after 1776 in which the United States had no President and no Constitutional government; the country for that interim was ruled by the temporary Articles of Confederation and the Continental Congress:

13 tiers then rise from the base to meet an All-Seeing Eye of Providence --- just as American history has "risen" from 1776 to meet the Age of "Superscience" we in which we have been living since the splitting of the atom.

Now --- buried in the nation's infancy is a 12-year interval between two milestone events --- the founding of the Presidency and the Constitutional government in 1789, and 1801, the true Turn of the 19th Century. (Our chronological system for counting years began in 1 A.D., not 0.)

If we take this as a hint, and allow each tier in the pyramid to represent 12 years in the history of the Presidency, the 13th and final tier will correspond exactly --- and I mean exactly --- to the entire 12 years of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's administration --- our only 12-year President:

This leaves the gap to correspond to the year 1945 --- the year in which the first Atomic Bomb was exploded; this occurred at Alamogordo, New Mexico, on July 16th, 1945, and is commemorated there by a pyramid-shaped monument:

The Eye of Providence then corresponds to the years following 1945, which have given us the age of technological wonders in which we are now living; appropriately, it is portrayed on the Seal by an All-Seeing "Eye of Providence" with "rays of glory" streaming from it:

Since the atom was split in '45, we have borne witness to the television age, the jet age, the discovery of DNA, genetic engineering, lasers, the Space Race, Lunar landings, Martian rovers, cellphones, tabletop computers, laptops, orbiting high-resolution telescopes --- the list is endless. And any one of these wonders would have been considered black magic by any generation prior to '45.

If we now continue generating 12-year intervals beyond '45, there are only four components on the Eye with which to represent additional intervals --- the three corners of the triangle in which the eye is housed, and the eye itself:

Adding the intervals suggested by these components to the 13 already portrayed by the tiers brings all of American history that can be represented by the pyramid to the year 1993:

Ironically, 1993 was the year in which the space telescope Hubble went on line, sending back the first high-resolution images from deep space; though it had been in orbit for two years, a flaw in its mirror was not repaired until December '93, with the first detailed images being sent back on the 18th.

So just as the four intervals of the Eye began with an event in the New Mexico desert which is commemorated by a pyramid-shaped monument, they concluded with the world's first "eye on the universe."

Something strange is going on here; talk about life imitating art!

As further evidence that we are on the right track, each 12-year interval of the Eye ended with a milestone in the history of space exploration:

With the addition of these four intervals of the Eye, the total number of intervals portrayed on the pyramid side of the Seal becomes:

Ironically, they began and ended with Presidents named George 200 years apart: George Washington took office in 17-89, George H. Walker Bush in 19-89.

A by-product of all this is that if we take the 1300 years which separated the fall of Rome from the founding of the United States; divide by 6; and then project a 7th interval of the same duration beyond 1776, the entire history of the United States portrayed by the pyramid will be covered by that timeframe:

Beyond the All-Seeing Eye, there are no more components with which to represent additional intervals --- yet American history did not end with1993.

Turning to the eagle side of the Seal, we find four additional components with which to represent additional intervals in the (1) arrows of war; (2) olive branch of peace; (3) the glory above the eagle's head; and (4) the soaring eagle itself:

The intervals portrayed on this side of the Seal then become:

By the strangest of coincidences, the eagle side bears a striking resemblance to a 16th Century alchemist's emblem, the Treasure of Treasures of Philippus Aureolis Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenberg, better known as Paracelsus. Paracelsus is regarded today as the father of modern medicine for his defiance of the Catholic Church through his use of cadavers in teaching his medical students.

Like all alchemists, Paracelsus disguised his formulas in the form of pictographs to conceal his work from the Inquisition; how it ended up as the basis for the Obverse side of the Seal is a mystery.

On the Seal, the arrows of war translate to the moon on the Treasure; the olive branch becomes the sun; the glory above the eagle remains intact on the Treasure; and the soaring eagle becomes a "Phoenix" rising from a "nigredo" of burning sulfur. Even the "treasure chest" beneath the Phoenix finds representation on the Seal through the Seal's appearance on the dollar, also known as a "treasury note."

If we add the four intervals of the eagle side of the Seal to the 17 intervals portrayed by the pyramid and the Eye, the total number of intervals portrayed by the Seal, front and back, comes to 22, and the total number of years comes to 265. All of American history covered by the Seal then ends with the year 2041:

This is how the Great Seal portrays American history. But it doesn't end there.
